Parents: We need your help!

Kawameeh Middle School will be participating in a new program called Positive Behavior Supports in School (PBSIS). This School-Wide Positive Behavior Support is a multi-tiered prevention-intervention model that provides a continuum of positive behavior support strategies in school settings. The goals of PBSIS are to reduce occurrences of discipline and behavior issues, subsequently increasing student achievement.

Please click one of the parent surveys below and answer the questions provided. Once your survey is complete, click “Done.” Finally, print out the confirmation sheet and have your student return it to school for extra credit.

WHERE IN THE WORLD IS CHIEF KAWAMEEH?

 WEEK OF APRIL 7TH:

From the beautiful city of Sydney, Australia, I have returned to North America.

  • I find myself in this two time host of the Winter Games in 1932 and 1980.
  • Nestled in the Adirondacks of upstate New York, this picturesque little town is the smallest city to host an Olympics and one of the few to host the Games multiple times.
  • Eric Heiden of the USA won all five gold medals awarded in speed skating.
  • East Germany won the most medals, but the Soviet Union won the most gold medals.  Where are those countries now I wonder….
  • Although it hosted the games for the first time in 1932, it is most famous for the 1980 Winter Olympics and the “Miracle on Ice.” when he US hockey team, filled with college players, defeated the mighty Soviet hockey team, filled with professional players.
  • The US had no business beating them but the victory was a huge, and unexpected, lift to the U.S. during the darker days of the Cold War.
  • Where am I?
